Wintry weather hits NZ - NIWA forecast
Strong winds, snow, thunderstorms and rain are expected to hit most of New Zealand today through to Wednesday. There are snow warnings for all of the major passes in the South Island. The Central Plateau is also set to experience winds up to 120 kilometers per hour, isolated tornadoes and snowfall down to 700 metres. NIWA meteorologist Chris Brandolino joins Guyon Espiner with the details.
