More heavy rain is expected on Friday in areas deluged on Thursday. About 200 people were evacuated because of flooding after more than 300mm fell in Hawke's Bay. More than 100 tourists stranded in a remote area of the Ruapehu District will find out when they'll be able to leave. Helicopters delivered supplies and an electricity generator early on Friday morning to the Blue Duck station, west of Raurimu. Whanganui River levels have slowly dropped overnight and are predicted to continue to do so on Friday. MetService forecaster William Nepe joins us with the latest details.
