Cyclone Gita hits Tonga: Emergency teams out before dawn

From Morning Report, 6:10 am on 13 February 2018

Tropical Cyclone Gita has wreaked havoc in Tonga. On Tongatapu, winds of over 233km/h ripped roofs off houses, brought down trees, destroyed a Catholic church, and took the Tongan Met Office and the national radio station offline. There are unconfirmed reports two people have been killed. As dawn arrives emergency services are heading out to assess the damage. We cross to the capital Nuku'alofa and talk to Graham Kenna from Tonga's National Emergency Management Office.
