Weather: Otago farmer delighted by downpour

From Morning Report, 8:47 am on 2 February 2018

While yesterday's rain has been the cause of chaos in some parts of New Zealand, in other parts, it's been a blessing. Farmers in Otago and Southland are rejoicing as the heavy rain has finally marked an end to the drought. Earlier in the week we spoke to Gary Kelliher, a farmer who runs sheep and deer on 500 hectares in the Manuherikia Valley 6km out of Alexandra in Otago. He tells us Thursday's rain was very welcome.
