The new Government is being told it must end short term political thinking or else it will have no chance of meeting ambitious development goals in housing and transport. Even with consistent planning over many years, the Labour-led Government will be hard pressed to achieve its goals, because not enough people or materials are available to do the job. The message emerged from a conference organised by Infrastructure New Zealand in Wellington on the same day the new government was sworn in.
