Ophelia hits Ireland, residents urged to stay inside

Officials in the Republic of Ireland are urging people to stay in doors as tropical storm Ophelia batters the British Isles. Two men and a woman are now dead as a result of the storm. The worst is expected to hit on Tuesday morning (NZ time). Overnight wind gusts reached 17km/h, knocking out power to more than 350,000 people.
