Tropical cyclone Debbie bears down on northern Queensland

A severe tropical cyclone heading for the coast of Queensland has overnight been upgraded to category four and the Australian Bureau of Meteorology says it can't rule out the cyclone becoming category five by the end of the day.
 
It is is expected to hit land  this afternoon.

We cross to Bowen in the Whitsundays to talk to 9 News reporter Tessa Hardy.
