South Island temps top 30 degrees before noon

Temperatures are climbing in parts of the South Island, with potentially record-setting highs on the cards this afternoon. MetService says temperatures around the Canterbury High Country are already near the 30 degree mark, with even hotter weather on the way in the coming hours. Māni Dunlop spoke to RNZ's Christchurch reporter, Sally Murphy, who was at Orana Park.
