3:00 Classic Concert: The Temptations - In Japan

This Temptations line up from 1973 consists of Damon Harris, Dennis Edwards, Richard Street, Melvin Franklin, and Otis Williams on tour in Japan after their "Masterpiece" album and the 1972 number 1 hit, 'Papa Was a Rolling Stone'. The Temptations are regarded as the most successful vocal group in black music history and were known for their psychedelic soul sound pioneered with producer Norman Whitfield, and their rich vocal harmony arrangements which are demonstrated on this recording. Regarded as a rarity by Temptations fans, this 1973 recording was only available in Japan until released internationally in 2006 (Hip-O Select)
