3:00 Classic Concert: Creedence Clearwater Revival - Live (1970)

Recorded at the Oakland Coliseum in January 1970, two years in to their brief five year career, but already having released four albums generating eight top 40 singles. The group consisted of singer, guitarist, and primary writer John Fogerty, rhythm guitarist Tom Fogerty, bass player Stu Cook, and drummer Doug Clifford. They played classic guitar rock 'n' roll - part Bo Diddley rock and part Staple Singers soul - basic beats and hooky hum along melodies under Fogerty's graveled vocals. As they recorded mostly live in the studio for their album releases, their live concert performances match their records in arrangement and energy (Universal)
