3:30pm - Proud: An Urban-Pacific Streetsoul Compilation

In 2022 Independent Music NZ announced the seminal 1994 album ‘Proud - An Urban-Pacific Streetsoul Compilation’ as the recipient of the 2022 Classic Record award and a year later (May 2023) the album was released on vinyl for the very first time.

A compilation of South Auckland artists, Proud paved the way for OMC’s worldwide hit, How Bizarre. In this episode of Essential New Zealand Albums, Nick Bollinger talks to Proud’s producer Alan Jansson.
