10:20 Day three of the Chch mosque attack sentencing

The final victim impact statements have been read out today in the High Court in Christchurch, as the sentencing of the gunman who attacked two mosques in the city draws to a conclusion.

Twenty-nine-year-old Australian Brenton Harrison Tarrant, is being sentenced this week for the massacre, which killed 51 people.

RNZ Christchurch reporter Anan Zaki, has been following proceedings outside of court.

Åsne Seierstad is an award-winning Norwegian journalist and author known for her work as a war correspondent. In 2013, Seierstad wrote One of Us: The Story of Anders Breivik (Bray-vick) and the Massacre in Norway, which is the basis for the film 22 July.  Her articles, drawing parallels between the case of Anders Breivik and that underway in Christchurch -- have been published in the New York Times and - just yesterday, The Guardian.
