10:20 Mandatory masks in Melbourne at midnight

The Victorian Premier says people must self-isolate as soon as they feel sick, or the 6-week lockdown in Melbourne will have to be extended.

Those under lockdown in Melbourne must wear masks from midnight tonight, and Robert Kelly will speak with Anthony Stewart in the ABC's newsroom in Melbourne as Victoria prepares for this latest protection against Covid-19.

People wearing face masks are seen at the entrance of the Menarock Life aged care facility, where a cluster of infections has been reported. There are Covid-19 cases linked to 40 aged care facilities in Victoria.
