10:20 Gun owners' council denounces breach of firearms buy-back data

A privacy breach has shut down the police website for the national firearms buyback scheme but police say the gun buyback programme will continue.

The police can't yet rule out whether any gun owners' information has ended up in the hands of organised crime gangs. Deputy commissioner Mike Clement says while he's sure the dealer was the only person who  accessed the details he can't guarantee that absolutely. 

Karyn speaks with Nicole McKee, the secretary of the Council of Licensed Firearms Owners about the gun buyback scheme and this data breach.

As the death toll from measles rises to 53 in Samoa, the Samoa government is shutting down its offices on Thursday and Friday to support the mass vaccination programme across the country.

In Fiji, Tonga, New Zealand and parts of Australia there are also measles outbreaks, and Karyn speaks with the World Health Organisation's Medical Officer for the western Pacific, Dr Jose Hagan, about how each country's measles outbreak has its own circumstances to navigate.
