Tom Mackintosh - from rowing's biggest boat to its smallest
Not long after winning an Olympic gold medal in Tokyo, Tom Mackintosh thought why not go from the biggest boat in rowing to the smallest. In 2021 Mackintosh was one of the youngest members of the New Zealand men's eight that scored a stunning victory at the Tokyo Olympics. Not long after he took a break from the sport, but after six months in the corporate world he decided he had to make the most of the sporting opportunity he'd been given.Next week Mackintosh lines-up up in the solo event at the World Rowing Championships in Serbia. He spoke to sports reporter Barry Guy about the change.
