Prime Minister Chris Hipkins there - announcing the Government's plan to dramatically cut climate pollution from the Glenbrook Steel Mill. Shortly we talk to Dr Grant Hewison from Lawyers for Climate Action - for his take - but first a bit of background. The plan is to build an electric arc furnace at Glenbrook to replace the current Coal furnace and melt down scrap metal to make new steel. That electic furnace will almost halve the emissions of NZ Steel - which is currently our 11th biggest climate polluter.
