Son of killed dairy owner in 2014 calls for tougher penalties

The son of a man killed at an Auckland dairy in 2014 says too much money is being spent on criminals rather than the victims of their crimes. 57-year-old Arun Kumar was stabbed to death by a 13 year old boy after a botched robbery at the Railside Superette in Henderson. But eight years on, his son Shivneel Kumar has written an open letter to Justice Minister Kiri Allan and the Prime Minister calling for the government to get tougher on crime. And he told First Up producer Mahvash Ikram fog cannons and increased security is not the answer.
