New Mayors: Tory Whanau in Wellington

Centre-right candidates won big in the local elections over the weekend, which some commentators saw as a rebuke of the current government. One of the few candidates to buck that trend was former Green Party chief of staff Tory Whanau, who is the new Mayor of Wellington.
