Shane Te Pou on Sam Uffindell's political future

National MP Sam Uffindell says he has no plans to leave Parliament. Earlier this week news broke he had attacked a younger boy when he was a 16-year-old at boarding school. Last night, the new MP was suspended from the National Party caucus pending further investigations into his past behaviour.. Mr Uffindell says he told National's selection panel about the incident before standing in the Tauranga by-election, but the 60 regional delegates who chose him did not know; nor did the party leadership or the public. But he admits the assault was relevant information for voters in his electorate. Joining Nick Truebridge is political commentator Shane Te Pou.
