Covid-19: Omicron BA.5 can reinfect faster

From First Up, 5:48 am on 18 July 2022

The Ministry of Health says the highly-transmissible BA.5 subvariant of Omicron will become the dominant strain of the virus in New Zealand in a matter of weeks. Health advice now suggests reinfection can now occur within just 29 days of recovering from the Covid ... so some of us will be struck down by the virus more than once in a matter of a month or two. Nick Truebridge discussed this with Professor Graham Le Gros of the Malaghan Institute.
