Christchurch residents at their wits end over Bromly pong
Christchurch residents say the stench from a damaged sewage plant is making their lives hell, and they don't know if they can hold out for the seven months it could take to fix it. Residents from the suburb of Bromley were able to air their frustrations at a Christchurch City Council meeting yesterday, where officials pledged to take action. The problem began years ago with the city's organics processing plant, but was made far worse when the neighbouring wastewater plant was damaged in a fire last November.
