Hospitality businesses around the motu are trying new things, to keep themselves afloat amidst Covid-19 restrictions. After opening their doors last year, Italian and French inspired restaurant Va Bene in Auckland's Parnell was not trading long before we locked down again. Co-owner Paul Patterson pivoted to a takeaway business instead, they began serving American-style BBQ ribs out of Va Bene's back window. Thats when "The Parnell Porker" was born.
