Human remains found 2 days before 11th anni of Pike River

The discovery of human remains deep inside the Pike River Mine just two days out from the 11th anniversary of the disaster has caused an outpouring of emotion from the families of those who died. Police revealed yesterday that cameras lowered into bore holes in the furthest reaches of the mine detected at least two bodies - possibly three - late last week. The government announced in March that there would be no more money to continue searching the mine after the Recovery Agency reached the furthest point in the drift recovery effort. Police say it's not possible to recover the bodies. Matthew Theunissen reports.
