The government is expected to announce changes to the MIQ system today ... after yesterday's scheduled announcement was called off. Ministers met yesterday to go through details of the changes, but - as the Covid-response Minister said yesterday - there are a lot of complex issues to work through. Nathan Rarere discussed this with the Deputy Prime Minister, Grant Robertson, and he began by asking about a comment by America's Cup winner Sir Russell Coutts, who said it's "total nonsense and contradictory that double vaccinated people who test negative for Covid tests are being locked down for 14 days in MIQ while people with Covid are being allowed to self isolate in the community".
