Northland business getting workers vaccinated to operate

From First Up, 5:53 am on 27 October 2021

Anyone who works somewhere that will require vaccine passports for customers has to get the vaccine themselves, or else risk losing their job. The new vaccine mandate announced by the government yesterday applies to hospitality businesses and those where people come into close contact with customers, such as hairdressers and events venues. It looks like it's not going to have much affect on the staff at the Duke of Marlborough Hotel in Russell, where 96 per cent of its 72 staff have been vaccinated. Co-Owner Riki Kinnaird has been working tirelessly to get employees informed about the vaccine, and has also been doing a huge amount of community outreach as Covid cases continue to crop up in Northland. He spoke with Nathan Rarere.
