Paddon debuts electric car this weekend in Waimate

Former WRC rally driver Hayden Paddon's electric car will make it's competitive debut this weekend at a hill climb near Waimate. Paddon has spent the last two and a half years developing the Hyundai Kona EV at his base in Cromwell. 80 per cent of the car has been designed and developed in-house in a world leading project for rallying. Paddon had hoped to have debuted the car six months ago, but admits Covid put them behind schedule. While it certainly looks like a rally car, Paddon told Barry Guy they're hoping fans will also think it sounds a bit like a rally car.
