Victoria lifts lockdown Friday, opens borders to Sth Islanders
We begin in Australia where that State of Victoria is lifting its lockdown from Friday when the state should reach the milestone of 70 per cent of elegible people being fully vaccinated. This is despite over 18-hundred new cases recorded there yesterday. At the same time, Victoria and New South Wales will be welcoming back travellers from the South Island from Wednesday ... although Aussies wanting to come here will still have to go through managed isolation. ABC Sydney correspondent Gavin Coote spoke with our producer Matthew Theunissen about the latest developments.
