Sir Ian Taylor has own plan for business self isolation
Applications are now open to business people who want to take part in a trial scheme that allows people to isolate at home instead of spending two weeks in MIQ upon entering the country. The self-isolation pilot will be capped at 150 people and will focus on businesses and employees required to travel internationally for work. A business person who was immediately ruled out of the scheme was Animation Research boss Sir Ian Taylor. He's based in Dunedin but the trial is limited to people who live within a 50 kilometre radius of Auckland or Christchurch airports. Sir Ian has criticised the scheme as being impractical and has come up with his own plan, which he will present in an open letter to the Prime Minister over the weekend. He told our producer Matthew Theunissen why he thinks the government's proposal is flawed.
