Moving companies now allowed to relocate Aucklanders

Since Auckland was plunged into lockdown six weeks ago, families with plans to pack up and move to another part of New Zealand have been in limbo. They finally got some good news yesterday when the government announced that from today people who are leaving Auckland permanently are able to do so. This also applies to people who have shared caregiving arrangements and students travelling to a tertiary education residence. The sales director from New Zealand Movers, Tony Dalton, says since the announcement they have been inundated with calls from families who need to relocate. He spoke with our reporter Ella Stewart.
