"Not feeling part of Team of 5 million" missing out MiQ sports
Back to the issue of Managed Isolation and Quarantine now .... last week more than 30,000 New Zealanders went online in a virtual lobby last week in the hope of getting one of just three thousand MIQ spots. Tomorrow the lobby will be open again offering just a few thousand spots to people desperate to get home for Christmas. Kaleb Lloyd is one of them. He's now living in UK, where he works in operations for the NHS and was a frontline worker during the country's devastating Covid crisis. He was in the lobby last week and after three hours had only got to 19,000th in the queue. He's desperate to get back to New Zealand to visit family and told Ellie Jay it's taken a huge toll on his mental health.
