A couple of weeks back, First Up brought you the story of Geronimo, the New Zealand alpaca in the UK who was to be put down for having Bovine Tuberculosis. Geronimo's owner Helen Macdonald imported him into the UK in 2017, but he's repeatedly tested positive for the disease, something that Helen disputes. Earlier this week, the sentence was carried out, and Government vets, and a decent number of police, descended on Helen's farm and took Geronimo away for the final time. Nathan Rarere asked Helen Macdonald how it happened.
