Sydneysiders will be fined if caught flouting lockdown rules

We begin again this morning in Australia where the chances of the trans-tasman bubble re-opening in seven or so weeks looks highly unlikely after New South Wales recorded 170 new infections yesterday - a record high. To make matters worse, 60 of those new cases were infectious while out in the community. The ABC's Gavin Coote spoke to our producer Ellie Jay from Sydney last night and told her the situation is dire.
