Freedom campers could face fines if a members' bill passes

Freedom campers will face harder crackdowns if a members' bill drawn from the ballot makes its way into law. The National Party's Freedom Camping (Infringement Offences and Other Matters) Amendment Bill proposes confining freedom camping - which isn't self contained - to within 200 metres of toilet facilities and increasing fines for rule-breakers.
