Darwin region in lockdown after Covid cases linked to mines
The wider Darwin region was put into a snap 48 hour lockdown after five Covid-19 cases were linked to a central Australian goldmine. Hundreds of FIFO workers have since left the Granites Gold Mine including two who travelled on to New Zealand. Those two workers are now in isolation with 1 testing positive for Covid-19. Our reporter Carmina Blewett asked the union's National Secretary Daniel Walton about what a 'FIFO' worker is, and how one worker with the virus could put so many others at risk.
