Nurses Organisation explain reason for strike

Around 30-thousand of the country's nurses will take part in an eight hour strike today to demand better pay and conditions at work. Nurses will picket outside hospitals around the country from 11am to show their displeasure with the Government and District Health Boards after nurses rejected the latest offer on Monday. The DHBs are ensuring the public that essential health services will remain available. Nathan Rarere spoke with the NZNO's industrial services manager Glenda Alexander.
