Whangarei Mayor concerned about patchy vaccine rollout
Northlanders trying to get the Covid-19 vaccine have been spending hours on the phone as they try to book an appointment, others have been turned away when they've arrived at the vaccination centre. The region is at the bottom of the table for the vaccine rollout so to try and get more people immunised, eligibility was opened up to anyone over 50 last week. But, as Checkpoint reported yesterday, that's led to huge pressure on booking systems and frustration that those with high risk factors aren't being seen. Nathan Rarere spoke with the Mayor of Whangarei Sheryl Mai.
