Disability support system too complex, children struggling

Advocates say the disability support system is too complex for many families to access - and that's leaving whanau with disabled children struggling financially. Child poverty statistics released earlier this year show one in five disabled children are living in material hardship - more than double the rate of non-disabled children. But Child Poverty Action Group researcher Caitlin Neuwelt-Kearns told our social issues reporter Sarah Robson that those figures show the income support system is inadequate.
