NZer in India desperate to bring children home
New Zealanders in India are becoming increasingly desperate as the country's Covid-19 pandemic spirals out of control. In excess of 300-thousand people a day are being infected with the virus and the country's hospitals are completely overwhelmed. First Up has been in contact with a number of New Zealanders stranded in India and they're unsure when they'll be able to return home. Sentory Te Kura travelled to India with her two 5-year-old children in 2019 after their father was deported and they needed to get proof of the relationship. She told our producer Matthew Theunissen she's also pregnant and wants nothing more than to get her children home.
