Top athletes get to jump Covid-19 vaccination queue

The country's top athletes will be able to jump the Covid-19 vaccination queue so that they can compete at International sporting events BUT they will still have to undergo two weeks of quarantine on their return. The government has announced strict criteria for early vaccinations with sportspeople among those eligible to apply. The secretary general of the New Zealand Olympic Committee Kereyn Smith told sports reporter Felicity Reid they're grateful for the decision but it won't be mandatory for athletes to get the jab.
