Virologist says vaccine approval timely and safe
Good news in New Zealand's fight against Covid-19. The Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine has been deemed safe from use, with Medsafe, announcing it had given it provisional approval. New Zealand's Pzifer vaccines are coming in by air and will be from same batch as Australia's. A batch of 450,000 doses was expected by the end of March. It has been approved for people 16 years and older, with two doses 21 days apart. Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern said yesterday that hotel cleaners, security guards and border workers at the airport will be among those at the front of the queue to get the jab.
