Tutor not surprised by bad maths results

Primary and intermediate school principals have accused the Ministry of Education of a lack of leadership in tackling New Zealand children's declining performance, It's in response to a 'Trends in International Maths and Science' study which last year showed falling scores for New Zealand 9-13 year olds. Our reporter Ella Stewart spoke with Alison England who has more than 40 years of experience in education and now owns a branch of tutoring service 'Numberworks'. Alison said she is not suprised by New Zealand student's poor results.
