Madeleine de Young: nominee for Young NZer of the Year

Our next guest is cementing herself as an important voice in Aotearoa's film and cultural landscape. As programme manager of the Maoriland Film Festival, Madeleine de Young has been helping rangatahi to find their voice through film and how to develop the practical skills to tell their unique stories. She hasn't let the pandemic stop her either, and has been holding workshops and training filmmakers to enter paid employment. Perhaps unsurprisingly, she's just been nominated as the Young New Zealander of the Year. Madeleine de Young spoke with Nathan Rarere.
