Whakatane local:town is slowing healing from eruption

A Whakatane local says the town will never forget the Whakaari eruption, but the community is looking for the positives following the tragedy. Today marks one year since the volcano erupted, leading to the death of 22 people. In Whakatane, Taylor Ulufonua owns Cafe 4 U. The cafe provided food on the house for first responders around the time of the eruption. Mr Ulufonua told our reporter Jean Bell it will take a long time for the town to heal, but the already closeknit community has become even more unified.
