Auckland's water restrictions will be eased in a few weeks after the region's lingering drought. The city has been under restrictions since May, when water levels across all reservoirs fell to just over 44 per cent as the region experienced its worst drought on record. They've climbed to 72 per cent now - still well below the 91 per cent average for this time of year - but Auckland Council believes that's enough to ease the restrictions from December the 14th. You'll be able to wash the car and water the garden, but you'll only be allowed to use a hand-held hose fitted with a trigger nozzle. Nathan Rarere spoke with Watercare liaison councillor Linda Cooper.
