Covid delays international freight, no relief before Xmas

Retailers and importers are grappling with lengthy wait times to bring products into the country - with no signs of relief before Christmas. A backlog of ships waiting to get into the Ports of Auckland is compounding worldwide freight disruptions caused by covid-19, and nearly every industry is taking a hit. The managing director of freight and logistics company Anglo Pacific International, Darren Stove, told reporter Nita Blake-Persen they were facing a perfect storm to get goods into the country.
