Epidemiologist:NZDF employee should not have caught Covid

From First Up, 5:43 am on 9 November 2020

A second Defence Force employee has tested positive for Covid-19, and flew from Auckland to Wellington after becoming infected. The first case, which was announced on Friday, had been working at the quarantine facility in Auckland and the second attended a meeting with them on Wednesday. They flew from Auckland to Wellington on flight NZ457 on Thursday evening and developed symptoms on Friday. The passengers sitting two seats in all directions have been contacted and asked to get tested and self isolate. University of Otago epidemiologist Michael Baker spoke about these developments with our producer Matthew Theunissen, who started by asking what the risk to other passengers is, given the case only came into contact with the virus the day before the flight.
