Epidemiologist says 2nd Covid MIQ case shows border failure
Two workers at the Sudima managed isolation facility in Christchurch have now tested positive for Covid-19. The second person, who tested positive yesterday, is a close workplace contact of the case reported on Monday. Both workers came into contact with the international mariners brought here from Russia and the Ukraine to run fishing ships, including some of the 31 who have tested positive for Covid. University of Otago epidemiologist professor Michael Baker told our reporter Louise Ternouth the case shows another border failure.
