Results from referenda out this afternoon
We could find out the results of the two referenda later today when the Electoral Commission releases provisional results from the vote earlier this month. The commission will release the results from the ordinary ballots at 2 o'clock this afternoon, which make up a the large majority of votes. But with about 480-thousand special votes yet to be tallied, it could be a while before we know the complete result - especially if it's close. The End of Life Choice bill consistently scored between 60 and 70 percent support in the polls, while the cannabis referendum hovered between 35 and 52 percent support. Wellington lawyer Graeme Edgeler, who has a particular interest in electoral law spoke with Nathan Rarere.
