Highway traffic cop talks about notorious highway SH5

From First Up, 5:43 am on 22 October 2020

Police are increasing their presence on State Highway Five after a spate of serious crashes. Eight people have died on the Napier-Taupo Rd since December last year, including Samoan seasonal worker Tino Tagiilima just three days ago. Police and the transport agency Waka Kotahi are some of the agencies behind an upcoming campaign called 'Stay Alive on 5'. Constable Steven Knox is a Hawke's Bay road policing cop and a member of the serious crash unit. He took our reporter Tom Kitchin for a ride and spoke about his experience on the highway.
