Scientists studying wheelie bin opening cockatoos, show others
Cockatoos are beautiful and a little bit cheeky, but they're also highly intelligent problem-solvers. One group of cockatoos in Stanwell Park, south of Sydney has captured the attention of scientists, because of the uncanny skill they're showing to open wheelie bins. And they've been passing this knowledge on to cockatoos in other areas. Research Scientist at Taronga Conservation Society in Australia John Martin has been studying the birds and told our reporter Louise Ternouth the birds have been developing this skill over a few years.
